When it comes to lean innovation or the lean start-up methodology in Slovenia, we can surely name Matej Golob as one of the pioneers. In 2013, he co-founded 30Lean (with Lojze Bertoncelj) and entered the market for agile and lean innovation. He has successfully expanded and introduced the “Lean Startup” methodology in both corporations and innovative start-ups through the years. A few weeks ago, he was a guest on Gravitacija Podcast, which is lead by Aleš Ugovšek and Miha Goršin.
During the relaxed and entertaining interview, they covered various interesting topics, among others:
- The history of lean innovation and its essence. How did it all start, who were the main guys that introduced lean innovation to the world, and how did it come to Slovenia.
- Where to start and how to tackle lean innovation, to help your business grow.
- How to proceed and which methods to use.
- How to manage innovation in a lean way when your product reaches a desired level of growth.
- How would Matej transform the school system with Lean Startup methodology.
Today, besides transforming established organizations in the fields of lean innovation and agile transformation, Matej runs marathons, practices mindfulness, and sometimes binge-watches Tedx talks. He is also a true book lover and reads a lot. One of the books he has read lately and would recommend is Reed Hastings’s book: No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention.
