Recently we delivered a workshop on Agile Marketing topic for Slovenian Marketing Association (SMA). Besides the mandatory Agile mindset, values, and practices, we also covered some case studies of big known brands that already adopted and are implementing Agile Marketing for their teams.

One of the most known is definitely ING, the Dutch bank that went through a big Agile transformation, including Marketing. They modeled and adjusted their own Agile setup after what they have seen at Spotify.

IBM also embarked on an extensive Agile transformation of their marketing teams in 2016, creating “agile hubs” in Austin, San Francisco, New York, Cambridge, Massachusetts and Raleigh, North Carolina, while also investing heavily in training and development programs.

3M recently also joined the crowd and introduced their own version of agile war rooms or what they call “a bay” – basically a room with a long table, comfortable chairs, big screens, a bunch of laptops, and ample snacks. Half the team hails from the business side: sales, portfolio leads, communications, business managers, technical service, and legal. The rest comprises marketing, digital experts, and creative folks.

General Mills, the makers of delicious Haagen-Dasz ice cream, were among the first from the big brands to dip their toes into Agile Transformation waters. It sure does make sense as it goes along well with them being pioneers also on the Mindfulness front.
